Tiffy the Yorkie – The Porky Yorkie!!

10 lbs! Really???

As you know, we’ve been in the process of taking lots of creative pictures lately.  Well, the other day mom came up with the idea of having my picture taken on a scale with rollers in my hair.  At least SHE thought it was funny.  Me not so much.  Anyway, while retrieving the scale from the bathroom someone had the bright idea of weighing me.  I was confident that I was still a svelte 7 pounds as I’ve always been.  So I confidently step on the scale….

WHAT!! 40 LBS!! This CAN'T be RIGHT!!

and it says….40 POUNDS!!!  40 POUNDS!!!!  This can’t be right!  Someone MUST be playing a trick on me!!

I don't believe it! Not for one second!!!

Once everyone had a good laugh, they set the scale back to normal but to my horror I had still gained 3 lbs!!  Yes, I am now officially a 10 pound Yorkie.  Perhaps I have been indulging a little too much in tasty, tantalizing treats??

This hotdog looks innocent enough. After all I'm naturally thin..Right?

And you should have heard my brothers go on and on!!  Tiffy weighs how much???  She couldn’t possibly weigh 10 pounds!!  and then from another room… “How much does Tiffy weigh??”  Enough already!  So I gained a little weight over the years, doesn’t everydog??  I do exercise at least 45 minutes every day and eat a pretty healthy diet.  That should count for something…right??  Well, thankfully my scale photo shoot is over and the scale has been placed back in the bathroom where it belongs.  This whole ordeal has worn me out….  I think I’ll go order a pizza, get on my computer and relax:)

I wonder what my blogging buddies are up to today?

Tiffy the Yorkie Barks About Post Puppy Days

Ah.... This is the life!

You may be wondering what I’ve been up to since my friend puppy left to go to her new home.  Well, as you can tell from the photo, I’ve been able to catch up on some much-needed down time.  Yes, it’s been pretty great for me, just kicking back and catching up on some missed episodes of the Dog Whisperer, for a few days anyway.  No one biting my tail, ambushing me and stealing my toys.  I do miss her though, we really became great friends in the short amount of time she stayed with me, but I have to admit…  She had ALOT more energy than me, after all I am 5 years old!!

What can we do next??

I’ve also been working on my portfolio and having photo shoots every day.  It might sound glamorous, but I have been getting a lot more baths lately…

Another bath??

and hearing things like “Tiffy stay clean.” and “Tiffy wipe that food off your face, we need to take pictures.”   I have to admit though, yesterday’s photo shoot was a lot of fun because I not only got to pose with a tasty hotdog…but I got to eat it as well.  Yummy!

Bring on the tasty treats!

I didn’t realize how tasty they are.  After the photo shoot, I was able to go outside and bark at the squirrels and chipmunks for a while.

Don't come near me Mr. Chippy and Ms. Squirrely...

I can look pretty intimidating when I want to and every time I bark I jump so my hair stand on end like this…

There he is again..

Once I scared all the wildlife away with my frightening antics, I settled down, found a comfy spot and took a nap.  All in all, a dog gone great day:)

Tiffy the Yorkie Barks About Puppy

My puppy friend has found her forever home:)

I’m happy to report that my little foster puppy friend has found her forever home.  Even though we will miss her very much, we know that she will have a great life with her new family.  Although she was only with us a short time, we certainly had a lot of fun together while she was here.

Playing with the giant bobo..

Puppy and the giant bobo! Her favorite toy.

Sharing my squeaky toys with her…

What's this??

or just hanging out in the kitchen together…

Want to play ball?

Yesterday, before she left puppy gave me a kiss goodbye.  I wished her luck in the future and told her to keep in touch.

We’ll miss you little puppy.  You were so much fun to have around.

Thanks for everything guys...

Tiffy the Yorkie Barks About Puppy’s First Bath

Did she say bath?? Better you than me puppy:)

This morning when puppy and I were hanging out in the kitchen everything was going well.  We munched on some goodies, played some fetch….typical dog things.  When all of the sudden this merrymaking was put to a sudden halt with one word….”BATH”!!  Yes, the dreaded “B” word that no dog wants to hear and certainly not first thing in the morning.  I was in luck though because the “B” word wasn’t being directed toward me but to my little friend foster,  puppy.

I just had a bath so I KNOW you're not talking to me!

I did my best to explain the procedure to puppy and told her not to worry about it, but that was all I could do.  Being a fluffy cute dog with puffy hair did mean that she would probably have to be groomed often, so she might as well get used to it now.  Also, I didn’t want to tell her but I did notice that she had part of yesterday’s dinner stuck in her fur, but she didn’t seem to mind so I didn’t mention it.  Well, it’s off to the bath for her.  ”Good Luck”, I barked as she was led into the bathroom.  ”Better you than me!” I added with a smirk.

Not my turn today!!

I waited by the bathroom door and listened.  Not much was going on from what I could tell and I heard the water running.  When I peeked in this is what I saw.

Is bathtime over yet???

Wow.  That’s the same face I used to have on bath day when I was a puppy, take a look.

Is bath time over yet??

I’d like to think I have matured since then…but I haven’t.  I still dislike getting a bath and the blow drying isn’t much fun either.  Anyway, puppy had a short bath and then got toweled off.  She was happy about that:)

Finally that's over. Let's have a snack:)

After she had her blowdry and was all fluffy again, mom treated her to a snack.  She was happy about that and now she’s all pretty again.

The price we have to pay to be this fluffy and cute:)

All is well in “dogland” again.  That is until next week when it’s bathtime again:)

Tiffy the Yorkie reports on Puppy

It's been some week.

Well, so far I have “kind of” gotten used to puppy ambushing me and biting my tail.  I’ve actually been quite gracious about it.  Today, mom decided to take her on a walk with us.  No aerobic adventure here!  She is certainly not the powerwalking type.  Basically, puppy takes a few steps…..stops…looks at us…then takes a few steps and stops.

I'm tired...let's stop for a while!

And eventually she sat down and refused to move at all.  I guess we wore her out…

Who me?? Move?? Nope...I'm done.

But overall, we think she did great.  After all the exercise, we dropped puppy off at home for her nap and went out on our usual walk.  When we returned puppy was ready to learn some new tricks.  Puppy is a pro at sit and is now learning to give paw.  Not to shabby for an 11 week old puppy.  She really adores my Cesar Filet Mignon treats and is happy to learn anything new to get one.

Paw puppy:)

As you can see, we have a lot going on around here in puppyland.  I hope all my blog friends are enjoying great adventures as well.

What's she doing now???

Tiffy the Yorkie Reports on Puppy Capers and Kisses

Me and my new pal

Well, here I am Tiffy the Yorkie reporting to you from puppy central.  I’m sure you want to know what’s been happening.  First of all, I am happy to report that puppy and I have been getting along very well together.  This little Japanese Chin is the most adorable little soul (even though she likes to bite my tail at times) and is very smart as well.  In addition to sleeping through the night, she has also been signaling when she needs to go outside and most impressive of all…..

She has learned the sit command…

I think I have this sit thing down:)

Puppy seems to enjoy playing with tennis balls just like I do.  Truly a girl after my own heart…

When do I get my turn with that ball??

All and all I am having a great deal of fun with my new visitor and will be sad to see her go.  In the meantime, I am enjoying lots of puppy kisses.

Too cute:)

Tiffy the Yorkie Barks About Puppy Adventures

Perhaps this will calm my nerves.

Don’t worry,  I haven’t started drinking beer, but I have considered it lately.  Why?  Well, ever since this weekend,  I have been acclimating myself to my new visitor ,”Foster Puppy”.  Yes, cute, cuddly and Mischievous….Foster Puppy….

Where's Tiffy? I want to play!

If you are a long-time reader of my blog, you might recall, the last foster puppy I hosted in my home “Layla the Chipom”.

Where did Tiffy go?

Layla was half Chihuahua, half Pomeranian and 100% feisty and she had the most annoying habit.  Biting my tail.  I realize that to some,  my tail may look like a little stub just swaying in the wind,  but it is indeed my tail and I don’t appreciate it being nibbled on.  Now, I thought that once Layla found her forever home that my tail would finally be safe.  Well, that’s just not the case because now my new foster puppy has also taken to biting my tail.  What is it with puppy’s and tails anyway.  Sometimes I even catch her trying to chase and bite her own tail.  I don’t recall doing this when I was a puppy, but I guess things have changed a lot since then.  Some other adjustments I had to make over the last few days have been:

Sharing my toys….

Just like Layla…..

Tiffy and Layla (Our first foster puppy)

this new puppy has also taken a liking to my toys.  My new extra-large Bobo especially.  Here she is posing with it.

I think I have bitten off more than I can chew!

She also seems to share my obsession for tennis balls and attacks them with gusto,  Her all time favorite item of interest happens to be mom’s pocketbook and she attacks it every opportunity she gets.

I'll just wait until no one's looking and then I'll strike!

Even with all her little quirks and tail biting habits, it’s still kind of fun to have a puppy around the house again and when I’ve had my fill of fun…..

You will find me napping on the couch somewhere out of sight trying to recuperate:)
